Pivot table : count unique values, duplicate values as 1

To count duplicate values as 1 in a pivot table of excel, follow these steps:

1. Select the data you want to use for the pivot table
2. In the pivot table box, check the “Add this data to the Data Model” box and click OK

3. Place the field you want to count

4. In the values area (more options), select “Distinct Count” and click OK.
